Itinerary
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be greeted by your private guide and transferred to your family-friendly lodge in Arusha (approx. 1-hour drive). Children will enjoy a welcome kit with safari coloring books and wildlife activity packs. Parents can relax with a refreshing drink as the family settles in. Dinner and overnight at Arusha Hotel.
After breakfast, depart at 08:00 AM for a two-hour scenic drive (about 120 km) to Tarangire National Park. This park is a paradise for elephants and bird lovers, with giant baobabs scattered across the plains. Enjoy a family-friendly game drive with plenty of breaks for photos and snacks. A picnic lunch will be served at a safe picnic site. Arrive at your lodge in the afternoon, where children can participate in a mini ranger program. Dinner and overnight at Tarangire Lodge.
After early breakfast, depart at 07:30 AM for a six hour drive (about 330) through the Ngorongoro Highlands into the vast Serengeti. Along the way, spot zebras, Giraffes, and possibly predators. After a picnic lunch in route, continue with an afternoon game drive before arriving at your family lodge in the central Serengeti. Dinner and overnight at Tarangire Lodge.
After an early breakfast, the adventure continues as you drive north through the endless Serengeti plains. The journey takes about 5–6 hours (150–200 km), but it feels like part of the safari itself: along the way, you pass golden grasslands dotted with acacia trees and encounter elephants, giraffes, zebras, and prides of lions resting under the shade
By afternoon, you reach the Mara River region, one of the most dramatic wildlife areas in Africa. If it’s the migration season, thousands of wildebeest and zebras can be seen crowding the riverbanks, hesitating before making their dangerous crossing where crocodiles and hippos wait.
As the sun sets, you enjoy a peaceful game drive along the river before heading to your camp in Northern Serengeti for dinner and an overnight stay under the starlit African sky.
Wake up to the sounds of the wild and set off for a sunrise game drive, when the golden light paints the plains and predators like lions and cheetahs are on the move. The Northern Serengeti is less crowded than other regions, giving you a sense of untouched wilderness.
Throughout the day, you explore the rolling hills and river valleys, stopping for a picnic lunch in the bush. Large herds of wildebeest and zebras stretch across the horizon, while elephants wander peacefully nearby. Birdlife is abundant, from fish eagles to colorful rollers.
In the afternoon, you may return to the Mara River, where the drama of the migration can unfold right in front of you. As evening falls, you head back to your camp for another night surrounded by the sounds of nature.
After breakfast, you begin the journey back south toward Central Serengeti, a 5–6 hour drive that doubles as a game drive. Along the way, you pass through wide open savannahs where cheetahs can often be spotted scanning for prey.
The road back allows you to experience the Serengeti’s ever-changing landscapes — from rocky kopjes where lions perch like kings of the plains, to valleys teeming with antelope. A picnic lunch is enjoyed en route, surrounded by wilderness.
By evening, you arrive in Central Serengeti, the heart of the park and a stronghold of the big cats. Overnight at a camp in the central plains.
A short early morning game drive offers one last chance to see Serengeti’s predators in action before you start your drive toward Ngorongoro Conservation Area (4–5 hours, approx. 145 km).
As you leave the open plains behind, the landscape gradually shifts to highlands with lush forests and cooler air. You enjoy a picnic lunch on the way and then continue to the rim of Ngorongoro Crater.
Arriving by late afternoon, you are greeted with breathtaking views over the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. The crater floor spreads out below you like a natural amphitheater, holding one of the densest populations of wildlife in Africa. You watch the sunset paint the rim in fiery colors before retiring to your camp overlooking the crater.
At dawn, you descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is often called the “Eighth Wonder of the World.” On the crater floor, the chances of spotting the Big Five are extremely high: lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and the rare black rhino. Large herds of wildebeest and zebras graze against the backdrop of the crater walls, while flamingos scatter across the soda lake inside. After a picnic lunch, you drive out of the crater and continue toward Lake Manyara National Park (2 hours, 90 km). Here, the landscape changes dramatically into lush groundwater forests and the sparkling Rift Valley escarpment. Manyara is famous for its tree-climbing lions, large troops of baboons, and a stunning diversity of birdlife, including pelicans and flamingos (seasonal).
By late afternoon, you leave the park and drive back to Arusha (2–3 hours, 130 km) where your safari adventure comes to an end.
