This 10-day journey takes your family from the wild plains of northern Tanzania to the turquoise shores of Zanzibar. The first part of the trip is filled with adventure in Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater landscapes where elephants roam beneath ancient baobab trees, lions bask on granite kopjes, and the great wildebeest migration thunders across the savannah.
After days of exploring Africa’s most iconic wildlife, the adventure shifts to the exotic island of Zanzibar. Here, your family can stroll through the winding alleys of Stone Town, breathe in the aromas of spice plantations, and relax on pristine white-sand beaches as the Indian Ocean sparkles under the sun.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha – Gateway to Adventure
You arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where the crisp mountain air greets you. Your driver-guide welcomes you with a smile and drives you to Arusha (about 1 hour). From the car window, you may catch your first glimpses of Mount Meru rising above the town.
The rest of the day is spent at leisure either relaxing at your hotel or, if time allows, enjoying a gentle city tour.
Family Highlight: First evening together in Tanzania, with children spotting new sights tuk-tuks, local markets, and friendly faces.
After breakfast, the real adventure begins. You drive to Tarangire National Park (approx. 2–3 hrs). As you enter, towering baobab trees greet you like ancient guardians of the land. Almost immediately, you spot elephants, often moving in large family groups, sometimes with babies playing in the dust.
The Tarangire River is the lifeline of the park, drawing wildlife from every direction. Lions lie in the shade, giraffes stride gracefully, and the air is filled with bird calls Tarangire is home to more than 500 species.
As the sun begins to set, you drive to your camp nearby, the evening filled with the distant trumpeting of elephants.

Today is a long but exciting journey around 6 hours passing through the Ngorongoro Highlands before descending into the legendary Serengeti? Along the way, the landscape changes from green forests to endless golden plains.
After a picnic lunch, you enter the Serengeti and the adventure begins immediately. The plains seem endless, dotted with wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles. The granite kopjes rise like islands, often with lions sprawled across the rocks.
By evening, you reach your camp in Central Serengeti, where the stars shine brighter than anywhere else.

Wake up before sunrise for a dawn game drive, when predators are most active. The cool air carries the sounds of lions roaring in the distance. As the sun rises, painting the sky orange and pink, you may witness a cheetah sprinting across the plains. The day is spent exploring different valleys and rivers, with picnic lunch under the shade of an acacia tree. Central Serengeti is famous for its big cats lions, leopards, and cheetahs but also herds of elephants, buffalo, and giraffes. After an exciting day, return to camp for storytelling by the fire.

After breakfast, set off on a 5–6 hour drive through the heart of the Serengeti toward the Mara River. Along the way, the wildlife spectacle continues ostriches running across the plains, hyenas trotting past, and herds of topes grazing.
By afternoon, you arrive at the Mara River, where nature’s greatest drama unfolds. During the migration season, wildebeest and zebras gather in their thousands, nervously eyeing the crocodile-filled waters before making the crossing. Even outside migration months, the river is alive with hippos and birdlife.

Enjoy a final morning game drive in the north before beginning the journey south to Ngorongoro (6–7 hrs). The drive is long but rewarding, with wildlife encounters along the way.
By evening, you reach the rim of Ngorongoro Crater. The view is breathtaking: the world’s largest unbroken caldera stretches out below, a vast green bowl teeming with life. Wake early and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater. The crater floor feels like a natural zoo, where nearly every animal is within sight. Lions patrol the grasslands, elephants feed near the forests, and the rare black rhino may appear like a shadow in the distance.
After a picnic lunch by the hippo pool, you drive back to Arusha (4 hrs.) and catch your evening flight to Zanzibar (1 hr). On arrival, transfer to your beach hotel where the gentle sound of waves replaces the roar of lions.

Today combines history and fun. In the morning, wander through Stone Town, where narrow alleys twist between centuries-old buildings. Children enjoy the lively markets, while parents appreciate the rich Swahili culture and architecture.
In the afternoon, head to a spice farm, where the air is filled with the scent of cinnamon, cloves, and vanilla. Kids can pick, smell, and even taste fresh spices straight from the trees.
Return to your beach hotel to swim as the sun sets.

A full day to relax or enjoy the ocean. Swim in the turquoise waters, snorkel over colorful coral reefs, or take a traditional dhow sailing trip. For families, the shallow warm waters are perfect for children, while parents relax under palm trees.

Spend your final morning enjoying the island’s tranquility. Walk along the beach collecting shells or swim one last time in the ocean.
Transfer to Zanzibar International Airport for your onward flight.
