Day 01 :

Arusha – Lemosho Gate – Big Tree Camp

Depart from Arusha and drive to Londorossi Gate for park registration before continuing to the Lemosho starting point. Begin your trek through lush rainforest, enjoying the sights and sounds of nature along the way. After a steady hike, reach Big Tree Camp for your first night on the mountain, accompanied by an armed ranger for safety.

Day 02 :

Big Tree Camp – Shira Camp 2

Begin your trek through lush forest before the scenery opens into heath and moorland filled with unique plants like lobelia and erica. Cross the Shira Ridge and stop at Shira Camp 1 for lunch while enjoying views of Mt. Meru and the Rift Valley. Continue your gradual ascent past giant senecio plants to reach Shira Camp 2. Relax and take in stunning sunset views of Kibo Peak before resting for the night.

Day 03 :

Shira Camp 2 – Lava Tower – Barranco Camp

Today’s trek takes you higher for acclimatization, climbing up to 4,640 m at Lava Tower before descending to Barranco Camp (3,960 m) for the night. The route crosses the Shira Plateau and transitions into alpine desert with fewer plants. After lunch near Lava Tower, you’ll descend into the scenic Barranco Valley filled with giant senecios and lobelias. The day ends at one of Kilimanjaro’s most stunning campsites after about 6–7 hours of trekking.

Day 04 :

Barranco Camp – Karanga Camp

Begin the day by conquering the famous Barranco Wall, the most challenging yet rewarding part of the climb. Using both hands and feet at times, you’ll ascend with the help of your guides to ensure safety. Once at the top, enjoy spectacular views of Kibo’s southern glaciers and the summit ahead. Continue along a scenic ridge with several short ascents and descents before reaching Karanga Camp by midday for rest and acclimatization.

Day 05 :

Karanga Camp – Barafu Camp

After breakfast, trek through the alpine desert landscape toward Barafu Camp (4,640 m). Spend the afternoon resting and preparing for the summit night. Dinner is served early so you can get a few hours of sleep before the midnight ascent begins.

Day 06 :

Barafu Camp – Uhuru Peak – Mweka Camp

Start a midnight ascent from Barafu Camp with tea and a light snack. Trek through frozen lava ash to Stella Point, then continue along the crater ridge to reach Uhuru Peak (5,895 m) at sunrise. After enjoying the views and taking photos, descend to Barafu Camp for lunch and rest, then continue down to Mweka Camp for the night.

Day 07 :

Mweka Camp – Mweka Gate – Arusha

After breakfast and a farewell ceremony with your mountain crew, begin a gentle 2–3 hour descent through the rainforest to Mweka Gate. From there, your driver will transfer you back to your lodge in Arusha, concluding your Kilimanjaro adventure.
